Used as a point of reference during travels along the Oregon-California Trail, the rising peak of Chimney Rock National Historic Site is an unmistakable natural landmark. Near the rock sits the Ethel and Christopher J. Abbott Visitor Center, an interpretive center discussing the trail and its travelers as well as the natural erosion process that formed the rock. The site is located less than two miles south of Bayard and Chimney Rock is visible from many miles away.
Visitor center open daily 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
